Shaun Fleener is a seasoned finance and accounting professional who serves as Director of Budget and Operations Finance for Indiana University Capital Planning & Facility Operations. In this role, Fleener leads financial strategy, budgeting, and operational finance for complex institutional initiatives. He previously served as a Lecturer at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, where he brought real-world financial expertise into the classroom and was known for emphasizing practical application.

Fleener has been affiliated with the Kelley School of Business since 2017, serving in both full-time and adjunct teaching roles. He continued teaching as an adjunct during his initial tenure with Capital Planning & Facility Operations (2022–2024) before returning to full-time instruction from 2024 until March 2026. Prior to his current role, Fleener built a distinguished career in industry, including leadership positions such as Director of Operations Accounting at Circle K and Director of Supply Chain Finance at Hillenbrand Industries. Across his career, he has developed deep expertise in procurement, cost management, and financial strategy. His contributions to teaching have earned significant recognition, including the Trustees Teaching Award and the Dr. James E. Mumford Award for Excellence in Extraordinary Teaching.
