The Indiana University Naming Committee currently consists of eight executive-level leaders who are tasked with reviewing facility and organizational namings or renamings universitywide. The authority for naming within Indiana University rests with the Indiana University Board of Trustees upon recommendation from the university president, except for those areas specifically delegated to the university president or other university officers for final approval. All naming proposals, however, should route through the University Naming Committee to ensure that proposals adhere to the policy and follow current naming conventions.
Information regarding the submission process can be found on the policy site for Institutional Naming.
Questions should be directed to Naming Committee staff member Beth Feickert at naming@iu.edu.
