IU Sustainability is proud to welcome Amanda Keene as the new director of campus sustainability at IU Indianapolis.
She will continue to build on IU Indianapolis’s long history of sustainability by providing operational leadership, including coordinating the implementation and monitoring of the IU Climate Action Plan (CAP) for the Indianapolis campus.
Keene’s journey with sustainability at IU began as a student in Bloomington, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in geography and a master’s degree in environmental sustainability. She was also an intern at IU Bloomington’s Office of Sustainability, gaining valuable hands-on experience and contributing to various sustainability projects on campus. She had most recently served as IU Indianapolis’s sustainability manager and campus beekeeper.
Keene expressed her enthusiasm about her new role, stating, “I am honored to step into this role during a transformative period for sustainability at IU. I look forward to collaborating with the campus and Indianapolis communities to work towards a more sustainable and resilient future for IU Indianapolis and beyond.”
“Amanda brings a proven track record of building positive, mutually beneficial relationships necessary to advance campus sustainability efforts. Her technical ability and deep knowledge of our IU systems will allow her build on the strong legacy of sustainability at IU Indianapolis. I’m thrilled to continue to work alongside her in this elevated role,” said Jessica Davis, IU Chief Sustainability Officer.
