Project description
This project includes the design and construction of an approximately 134,000 gross square foot, multi-purpose arena on the IU Indianapolis campus, serving as a key addition to the IU Indianapolis Sports District. The facility will seat approximately 4,500 patrons and support NCAA Division I basketball and volleyball, while also accommodating a wide range of other athletic and community events. Flexible, retractable seating will allow the space to be reconfigured for activities such as volleyball, wrestling, and other recreational uses. The arena will include an auxiliary gymnasium, athletics offices, and approximately 16,000 square feet of office space, along with locker rooms, training and fitness areas, concourse space, and patron amenities. Designed as a versatile, modern venue, the facility will enhance the university’s ability to host significant indoor events not currently supported in the downtown area.
